The coin shows the famous “Tree of life” of Klimt. The tree of life is reflected and between the two figures – “dancer” and “couple” – in the “Stoclet-Fries”. The golden branches of the tree are spirally rolled up at their ends and the trunk and the leaves observe the viewer from many eyes. During the creation of this picture, Gustav Klimt dealt with ancient Egyptian art and he deliberately incorporated these motifs into the picture in order to unite the ideas of Egyptian culture over eternity with the image. Gustav Klimt was born on July 14, 1862, near Vienna. Klimt also had many exhibitions abroad, this testifies to Klimt’s importance and recognition of his art in the art of the time.
