MASTERPIECE OF THE RENAISSANCE EXTERNALIZED IN FINE SILVER
The painting unravels the scene of the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mount Tabor with prophets Moses and Elijah depicted next to him. The glare-blinded apostles – Peter, James the Great and John the Evangelist – lie at the top of the mountain. Felicissimus and Agapith, deacons of Pope Sixtus II, can be seen beyond the hill. In the lower part of the canvas, nine apostles are trying to cure an epileptic boy accompanied by a crowd. This masterpiece of the Renaissance art is currently housed in the Pinacoteca Vaticana.
