The “Crystal Giant” series is a 45 mm original Swarovski® Crystal blue Moravian Star on a 1 Kilo Silver coin honoring St. Peter’s Cathedral of the Vatican City. In contrast to the first issue the coin as such is not only partly gold plated but features also colourized images of saints of the cathedral dome. Again this is another exceptional combination of highest minting technology and the fascination of a dazzling giant Swarovski® crystal. Each coin is individually numbered. Based in Vatican City is the Papal Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican or simply St. Peter’s Basilica, an Italian Renaissance church. The Construction of the basilica took 120 years, started in 1506 and was completed in 1626. Since then St. Peter’s has been famous as a place of pilgrimage and for its liturgical functions.
