Description
This set of 4×1/2 Oz Silver coins and 1×3 Oz Silver coin is a reproduction of “The Seven Deadly Sins” by Hieronymus Bosch. The coins have Proof quality, feature Smartminting Relief and vivid colors. The 3 Oz coin is concave with a glossy area. The coins come in a wooden case designed as an ancient book, along with Certificate of Authenitcity. Limited mintage of 300 pcs.
Design
The ½ Oz coins feature a representation of the “four last things”: Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell. The 3 Oz central coin, which is concave, depicts the Seven Deadly Sins: wrath at the bottom, then (proceeding clockwise) envy, greed, gluttony, sloth, lust, and pride, using scenes from life rather than allegorical representations of the sins. At the center, the eye of God, a pupil in which Jesus can be seen emerging from his tomb. Below this image is the Latin inscription: “Cave Cave Dominus Videt” – meaning “Beware, Beware, The Lord Sees”. The obverse of the coins feature the Coat of Arms of Palau and the inscription: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” – the country of issue. The face value of the 1/2 Oz coins is “2$”, whereas the face value of the 3 Oz coin is “20$”.
