ABOUT THIS COIN
R2-D2™ is the fourth character to feature in the Star Wars Classic coin collection.
After its release in 1977, Star Wars captured the minds of a generation around the world.
The ever-faithful R2-D2 (Artoo-Detoo) is a feisty astromech Droid of surprising determination and resourcefulness. Communicating in a variety of beeps and whistles, Artoo’s cylindrical body is equipped with multiple instruments and sensors designed to carry out his primary utility Droid functions. Along with his tall, golden counterpart C-3PO, Artoo frequently finds himself coming to the aid of his human masters.
Owned by the heroic Luke Skywalker, Artoo is instrumental in leading the young farmboy to Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and initiating Luke’s involvement with the Rebel Alliance. Often seated in the droid socket of his master’s X-wing fighter, Artoo accompanies Luke on his successful Rebel mission to destroy the Empire’s Death Star, and on his personal quest to train as a Jedi under the tutelage of the wise Jedi Master Yoda.

OBVERSE DESIGN
This features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Yoda 1 oz Silver Coin comes presented in a high-quality Star Wars branded and stylized inner coin case and themed outer coin packaging. The Certificate of Authenticity sits within the coin case and there is a worldwide limited mintage of only 10,000 coins.
