POLAR FOX – CANADA’S WILDLIFE – MAPLE LEAF – 2021 1 oz Pure Silver Color Coin In Capsule
The second issue of the Canada’s Wildlife series, reissued in 2021, is dedicated to the Polar fox (Vulpus lagopus). The motive features a detailed close-up of the head of an adult Polar fox in color. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue and the denomination “5 DOLLARS”. Polar foxes reach a body length of up to 60 cm and live in the north of Europe, Russia and Canada as well as in Alaska and Greenland. The Polar fox is the only wild dog whose coat color adapts to the season – the summer coat is brown, whereas the winter coat is either a snow-white or grayish color. The very dense fur provides the Polar fox with optimal protection from temperatures as low as -70 degrees Celsius. The Maple Leaf Polar Fox silver coin in color is delivered in a protective capsule including an illustrated product card.
