METEORITE THE UNIVERSE MAPLE LEAF 2023 1 oz Pure Silver Color Coin In Capsule
The first issue in the new series “The Universe” is dedicated to the Meteorite, one of the smaller celestial bodies in our orbit. The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver and depicts a meteorite falling to Earth. The infinite expanse of space can be seen in the background. Also included are the inscriptions “CANADA” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR”. The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue, the dates “1952-2022” and the denomination “5 DOLLARS”.
Meteoroids have always stimulated and fascinated the imagination of mankind. They are small to medium-sized celestial bodies that travel through space. Meteoroids are formed by the breakup of larger celestial bodies such as asteroids or comets and can enter the atmosphere of a world, trailing a cometary tail, also known as a meteor shower. Some meteoroids can be large enough to penetrate the atmosphere and land on the surface of a world, these are then called meteroite. Studies have shown that meteoroids are important carriers of water and other chemical elements in our solar system that may have contributed to the origin of life. The “The Universe – Meteorite coin in color” is delivered in a protective capsule including an illustrated product card.
