MERCURY OUR SOLAR SYSTEM MAPLE LEAF – 2022 1 oz Pure Silver Color Coin In Capsule
The second issue in the new series “Our Solar System” is dedicated to Mercury. The coin was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver and features a colored representation of the planet Mercury, which is illuminated by the sun. Also included are the inscriptions “CANADA” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR”. The reverse of the coin features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue and the denomination “5 DOLLARS”. Of all planets, Mercury has the narrowest orbit around the sun. Its distance to the sun is only around a third of the distance from the sun to the earth. Except for Pluto, it is also the smallest planet in our solar system. Because of its proximity to the sun, we see Mercury in our sky never far away from the sun. The side facing the Sun can reach a temperature of up to 430 degrees Celsius, whereas the reverse hemisphere is freezing with temperatures around -180 degrees. Externally, Mercury with its cratered landscape resembles the Moon of the Earth. The Our Solar System – Mercury Maple Leaf coin in color is delivered in a protective capsule including an illustrated product card.
