In 2017 the Krugerrand celebrated its 50th anniversary and was struck in silver for the first time ever. In 2020 the South African Mint now issues the first 2 Oz silver Krugerrand. The coin has the classic Springbok-Design and shows the profile of Paul Kruger, South Africa’s first president from 1882-1902, on the reverse. This limited world´s first is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity from the South African Mint.
