The ‘Flower with Butterfly’ coin is the fourth issue in the ‘Dot Art’ series. Using the enhanced Smartminting©️ technology the original dot art painting is turned into 3D and struck in silver. The coin has a black proof finish and is partly colored. It is struck on a 3 oz pure silver 65mm blank in the highest quality. The reverse of the coin depicts a flower in various colors covering the full surface. A beautiful butterfly pops out in similar coloring. All in traditional dot art style. The obverse side of the coin depicts the unique Coat of Arms with the same dot-art and the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” (the issuing country), “2023” (the year of issue), “DOT ART” (the name of the series) and “20 Dollars” (the face value).
The defining criterion for a dot painting is the technique used – that it is produced by repeated imprints of a paint covered brush, dotting stick or other implement onto the surface of the painting and that in doing so, there are recognizable ‘dot’ marks on the canvas. Often dot art includes flowers with various meanings. Some customary meanings to the flower are empathy, love, charm, passion, development, and hope.
