This dramatic engraved 1oz silver coin shows the Emperor as his alter ego Darth Sidious aboard the Empire’s battle station in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
The coin is presented in a high-quality inner coin case and Star Wars themed outer packaging. The Certificate of Authenticity is inside the coin case and there is a worldwide limited mintage of 10,000 coins.
Coin Story
Supreme ruler of the Empire, the evil Emperor Palpatine™ carefully manipulated his way through the bureaucratic corruption of the Old Republic to gain control of the Galactic Senate™ and assume complete authority. Declaring martial law throughout the galaxy, and ruling through the massive military forces of the Imperial navy, Palpatine transformed the Republic™ into his personal empire. Instilling fear into civilisations and species throughout the vast corners of the galaxy, the Emperor, twisted by greed, ambition and power, destroys all who challenge him. When his Sith™ apprentice Darth Vader™ proposes to turn his son Luke Skywalker™ over to the dark side, the Emperor realizes what a powerful asset Luke could be. Vader and the Emperor lure young Skywalker into the depths of the Imperial forces aboard the Empire’s battle station where Luke must confront his father in a fateful battle of good and evil. Despite the Emperor’s attempts, Luke cannot be turned to the dark side and thus must be destroyed. However, it is the Emperor who is destroyed – by the hands of his own apprentice Darth Vader. Vader sacrifices himself to save his son in an act of redemption that is a testament to the triumphant power of good over evil.
