BATMAN – JUSTICE LEAGUE 60th Anniversary – 2020 1 oz Fine Silver Proof Coin – Niue – NZ Mint
Officially licensed by DC Comics this second coin in the JUSTICE LEAGUETM series, showcasing the original members of the team, is of the CAPED CRUSADERTM himself.
This 1oz pure silver coin features a powerful coloured image of BATMANTM alongside the BATMAN logo. Additional engraving of the GOTHAM CITYTM skyline and the BAT SIGNALTM complete the design. As a legal tender coin, the obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin is packaged in a magnetised acrylic display block, which allows access to the coin for close inspection. This block arrives inside an outer box printed with more vintage BATMAN imagery.
Each coin has a mintage of only 1960, to reflect the year that the JUSTICE LEAGUE was formed. A Certificate of Authenticity, with a unique serial number, can be found inside the packaging confirming each coin as a limited edition and its significant coin issue date of 2020.
COIN STORY
The JUSTICE LEAGUETM is the original super hero team, created in the Silver Age by writer Gardner Fox and artist Mike Sekowsky in 1960 as the Justice League of America (a reimagining of the Golden Age’s Justice Society of America). The first JUSTICE LEAGUE line up included WONDER WOMANTM, AQUAMANTM, BATMANTM, THE FLASHTM, SUPERMANTM, MARTIAN MANHUNTERTM and GREEN LANTERNTM.
