The typeset collection comprises a 1oz proof, bullion, gilded, and coloured coin from the Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series II – 2019 Year of the Pig.
The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar Pig include 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007 and 2019. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be honest, loyal, sincere and generous, with a calm temperament.
Struck by The Perth Mint from 99.99% pure silver, each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,500 of the 2019 Year of the Pig 1oz Silver Typeset Collection in this packaging from the following maximum mintages: 8,500 (proof), 300,000 (bullion), 50,000 (gilded) and 170,000 (coloured)
DESIGN
The reverse of each coin features a representation of a domesticated or pet pig, which are typically pink with black markings, along with four piglets, amid stylised foliage. The Chinese character for ‘pig’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Pig’ appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The delicately frosted design on the silver proof coin appears on a polished table.
The gilded edition highlights the pig in 24 carat gold.
The coloured edition depicts the pig and the piglets in colour.
The shiny design on the bullion coin appears on a frosted table.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2019 year-date, the weight and fineness, and the monetary denomination are shown on each coin’s obverse.
PRESENTATION
Accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, typeset collection is housed in a contemporary red and black display case and themed shipper.
