These magnificent silver coins celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, the seventh animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
As well as appealing to investors, these superb releases are perfect for people born in the Year of the Rabbit– 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999 and 2011.
Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be tender and lovely.
Mintage does apply to this coin, only 300,000 has been minted.
Meticulously struck from 99.9% pure silver in bullion quality, the coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
DESIGN
The coin’s reverse depicts an adult rabbit and a young rabbit. The rabbits are surrounded by foliage and a tree with creepers entwined in its branches. The Chinese character for ‘rabbit’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rabbit’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2011 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse of each coin.
