Silver Koala Coin Series
Australia’s Perth Mint introduced the Gold and Silver Koala series in 2007. Each year has featured a unique design of this animal that is associated with Australia. Koalas
Early European settlers initially confused these new tree-climbing animals with monkeys or bears, which is why some people still refer to the creatures as koala bears.
