DESIGN
The reverse image by Curtis Atwater features a humpback’s tail rising from the water near a rocky island hosting one of the Atlantic’s famous lighthouses. Dominating the center of the image, the whale’s tail and the graceful lighthouse point the eye upward to a warm red and orange maple leaf sunset, which is reflected in the waters below. Detailed engraving and selective colouring make the sunset glow and the Atlantic waters shimmer.
