Striking Alien Design
Obverse: At the center of the obverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Around it are a series of galactic-inspired spheres. Inscriptions on this face include the name of the issuing country, “REPUBLIC OF GHANA,” the date, “2021,” the coin’s face value, “5 DOLLARS,” its weight, “1 TROY OUNCE,” and its purity, “999 FINE SILVER.”
Reverse: An alien turns to look at the holder on the reverse, appearing as though he is annoyed. In the background are a forest and silo, which suggest that he is on Earth. Also in the background are navigation instruments, a rocket ship, and galactic field patterning symbols.
