Alberta Confederation 125th Anniversary Provincial Quarter Original Coin Roll 1992 – Royal Canadian Mint
Alberta’s Provincial 25-cent coin depicts the impressive and dramatic Hoodson in the badlands near Drumheller. These columns of sandstone, naturally carved by erosion, are often crowned by caprocks which protect the lower units. These pillars range from a few centimetres to several metres in height.
Design
The obverse design features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 64 years old, wearing a new crown, surrounded by the Latin inscription “ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA”. This was the first effigy to be designed by a Canadian, Dora de Pédery-Hunt.
For the 125th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation, twelve new 25-cent obverses were designed (one released each month) honouring the ten provinces and two terroitories.
Packaging
Each roll consists of 40 coins of Royal Canadian Mint issued 1992 (1867-) Canadian 25-Cent Alberta Confederation 125th Anniv/Provincial quarters in original unopened condition.
