As Canada’s coins transition to the new reigning monarch, the Last Strikes Uncirculated Set commemorates the end of production of current Canadian circulation coins bearing the classic reverse designs and featuring the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
Struck in Winnipeg, these 2022-dated pieces are the last of the coins bearing classic designs and produced for everyday transactions as the Royal Canadian Mint did not issue any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the classic reverse designs and the obverse of Queen Elizabeth II. Together in this set, they represent the final chapter in the story of Queen Elizabeth II’s historic reign on Canadian circulation coinage.
