EMERGENCY SILVER EAGLES STRUCK AT PHILADELPHIA MINT – The West Point Mint typically strikes bullion Silver Eagles. Due to the COVID-19 crisis in 2020, however, Mint officials temporarily shut down the West Point facility and shifted production of bullion Silver Eagles to the Philadelphia Mint.
SAME CLASSIC DESIGNS – The Silver Eagle showcases Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic design from the Walking Liberty Half Dollar that circulated from 1916 to 1947. The coin’s reverse features the Heraldic Eagle design created by John Mercanti, the U.S. Mint’s 12th Chief Engraver and the most prolific coin & medal designer in U.S. Mint history.
CRAFTED IN HIGHLY PURE SILVER – Each American Silver Eagle is struck in one ounce of highly pure 99.9% fine silver and measures 40.6 mm in diameter.
UNITED STATES LEGAL TENDER – Silver Eagles are one dollar legal tender in the United States.
PERFECT UNCIRCULATED CONDITION – Your 2020(P) Silver Eagle Struck At Philadelphia Emergency Production coin has been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) in perfect Mint State-70 (MS70) condition.
SPECIAL EMERGENCY DESIGNATIONS – This coin will be sonically sealed in an acrylic holder with a black display core and a special label that identifies it as a “Struck at Philadelphia Mint” and “Emergency Production” issue.
