Through distinctive brush strokes and bold colours, the oil paintings of Canadian artist Tom Thomson (1877-1917) transformed how Canada’s northern landscape was perceived at home and abroad. The Royal Canadian Mint celebrates one of Canada’s most influential artists of the early twentieth century by recreating details from this famous painting Pine Island, Georgian Bay (1914-1916).
