The Design:
The design by Curtis Atwater presents a dynamic portrait of a largemouth bass as it leaps from a lake. Its large mouth is open wide, displaying its lower jaw. The fish’s scales, fin and the spraying water are engraved in great detail.
The Largemouth Bass:
The largemouth bass is a native North American species of black bass that inhabits lakes and rivers in southern British Columbia, eastern Saskatchewan, southern Manitoba, Ontario, and western and southern Quebec. Often the apex predator among its fish brethren in its local habitat, it is a strong and adaptable species whose ability to thrive makes it not only one of the continent’s most widespread fish, but at times an invasive threat to ecosystems. Because of its popularity among anglers, the largemouth is now found around the world.
