DESIGN
This $20 coin is 99.99% pure silver, with a nominal metal weight of 7.96 grams and a diameter of 27 millimetres. The reverse design by Canadian agency Three Degrees Creative Group features a smiling gingerbread man sliding down a snowy hillside. Arms raised, holding aloft a big candy cane in his left hand, the gingerbread man carves a path through the snow as he slides. The tree-lined hilltop rises above and behind him and snow seems to spray out before him, lending the image exceptional depth and movement. The reverse is engraved with the text “FINE SILVER 9999 ARGENT PUR”, “CANADA”, “20 DOLLARS” and the date “2015”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
