This 1/2-ounce coin is certified to be 99.99% pure gold with a diameter of 29 millimetres and a weight of 15.43 grams. The reverse design by Canadian artist Andy Everson presents the theme of “Air.” Its central motif is a thunderbird, stylized in the tradition of Everson’s K’ómoks and Kwakwaka’wakw ancestors. This image is framed by a circle of eight rays, representing the sunrays of daylight. Between the rays are eight stylized stars. The reverse includes the word “CANADA”, the face value of “200 DOLLARS” and the date “2014”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
