The $2 coin, only offered in this set, features two young wolf pups playing amid the fresh grasses and first daffodils in a high springtime meadow. One pup raises its tiny muzzle in a prototypical howl— practicing, no doubt, for adulthood when this skill will have many uses. Its sibling gazes playfully at the howling pup, ears forward, front legs slightly bent, tail low, in a pre-pounce play stance. In the background, a winding river twists through a broad forest valley that is flanked on all sides by a vast coniferous forest.
