ABOUT THE COINS
KOI
In Chinese Tradition Koi are symbolic of unity and fidelity as it is noted that fish (particularly koi) often swim together in pairs. With this in mind, Koi are often given as wedding gifts in the form of charms or figurines to present the newly-wed couple with an auspicious sign of fidelity and perfect union. They also represent fertility and abundance due to their ability to reproduce in speed and volume.
CRANES
Humans have always seen birds as symbols of inspiration and freedom. The ability to fly and to soar high up in the sky is closely associated in Feng Shui with the ability to serve as messengers from heaven. Birds are considered powerful symbols of new opportunities that are there for you, even in times of adversity. Their songs are inspirational in their beauty and complexity, which adds the primal power of sound to this Feng Shui symbol.
HORSES
Out of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac, the horse is seen as the ‘special one’, because of the symbolism it carries and its association with speed, strength, loyalty, perseverance and freedom. For centuries, the horse has been indispensable to man, as a partner in war, and a means of transportation in times of peace.
ELEPHANTS
One of the largest and strongest land animals living on the planet today, Elephants radiate an energy of kindness and wisdom. In Feng Shui, the Elephant symbolizes protection, good fortune, wisdom, and strength. The Chinese pronunciation of Elephant is Xiàng which has a similar sound to the Chinese word for good fortune, or something that is auspicious. The Elephant therefore is suitable for all areas of life, representing your aspirations being granted at work, in your personal life, and in that of your household. In traditional Feng Shui, Elephants are placed by a door with trunks held upward over their heads, symbolising that accumulated wealth and prosperity is being showered into the home.
