The 2002 Specimen Set features an all-new Canadian $1 Loon design in celebration of its 15th Anniversary.
The Common Loon Dollar was originally issued in 1987 with the image of a solitary common loon – graceful symbol of the Canadian wilderness. The special 2002 Common Loon Dollar depicts a family of loons in their natural habitat. Beautifully rendered by internationally acclaimed Canadian wildlife artist Jean-Luc Grondin, this distinctive commemorative coin is available only in this limited edition set.
