This 2023 $50 five ounce fine silver Maple Leaf coin provides an elegant and refined new perspective on what started 35 years ago as Canada’s new silver maple leaf bullion coin.
The Design:
Enhanced with selective gold plating, Walter Ott’s original maple leaf design is now flanked by intertwined vines and maple leaves and a banner marking the 35th anniversary of the SML in 2023.
The selectively gold-plated obverse features the posthumous effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt together with the double dates of reign 1952-2022. Mintage is limited to just 2,000 coins.
