This is a brand new series that will showcase volcanoes from around the world, one per year will be released. The first coin of the series was Erta Ale, and the second coin is VESUVIUS POMPEII.
Mount Vesuvius, a composite volcano, erupted in AD79 and killed thousands of people in the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Archaeologists have discovered hollows in the volcanic ash where the victims’ bodies fell and eventually decayed.
This amazing 2 oz Silver Coin is one of a kind. With only a mintage of 688 coins worldwide, this coin will be sought for from collectors for many years to come.
This is the second coin of a brand new series from the Mint of Poland and they are minted with strict authority from Niue. The coin has an ultra high relief (8mm height) and has a unique dome and convex shape, and is beautifully finished in an antique finish. On top of this all, the coin has an inlay of a real lava from Ethiopia.
