The American Silver Eagle coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver and bears the title “Polar Lights”. The colorful design features Santa Claus in the foreground in his sleigh being pulled through the snow by reindeer. The night sky, brightly lit by auroras, emphasizes the annual magic of Christmas. The inscriptions “LIBERTY”, “WE WISH YOU A HAPPY XMAS 2024” and the year of issue “2024” at the bottom of the coin are also included in the design. The reverse features the American bald eagle with an oak branch in its talons. The eagle design is framed by the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “ONE DOLLAR – 1OZ. FINE SILVER”.
