As the Royal Canadian Mint’s flagship offering, Silver Maple Leaf coins are often produced in commemorative or limited mintage editions. The RCM has launched a brand new privy, which will feature the Mark V tank design. The Mark V tank was introduced in 1916 during the First World War. At the time, the Allied military front in the European theater was mired in trench warfare. The Mark V ended the stalemate, and subsequently changed how military campaigns were administered on the ground. The 2016 Mark V privy Canadian Silver Maple commemorates the 100th year since the Mark V’s arrival in the theater of war, and the efforts of the Canadian military in WWI. Coin Highlights:
