DESIGN

The reverse design combines engraved and coloured elements in a loving tribute to the pet dogs that play a powerful role in the lives of so many Canadians. On the left is the raised and engraved silhouette of an obedient dog in a seated position, its head turned to face the viewer. To the right are the coloured images of objects that are often associated with our pets: a chew bone that brings comfort to our faithful friends; the comfy slippers that are loyally fetched for us; and the tennis ball that prompts important playtime through a daily game of “Fetch.” The reverse also features the engraved word “CANADA”, the face value “25 CENTS” and the year “2017”.
