This coin shows the Lion of England from the Queen’s Beasts. The lion holds the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The first and fourth section presents the three golden lions (for England), the second section presents one lion (for Scotland) and the third section shows the golden Harp (for Ireland).
The Queen’s Beasts, ten heraldic statues, stood in front of the Westminster Abbey for the Queen’s coronation in 1953. Each of the Queen’s Beasts consists of a heraldic beast supporting a shield bearing a badge or arms of a family associated with the ancestry of Queen Elizabeth II.
Enhancement was done by a private mint in Germany.
