Thomas Jefferson once said that “the passage of the Potomac River through the Blue Ridge Mountains is perhaps one of the most stupendous scenes in nature.” He was speaking about the views from Harpers Ferry at the confluence of the Shenandoah River and Potomac River in what is today West Virginia. The historic significance of this region is the reason it was chosen to represent the state on the 2016 5 oz Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Coin.
This is commemorated on the 2016 5 oz ATB Shawnee Silver Coin, and has been further enhanced with high quality color application, and comes with special box and certificate.
Enhancement was done by a private mint in Germany.
