The planet Venus as well as the radiant sun are indicated in the background. Also included are the inscriptions “CANADA” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR”. The reverse of the coin features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue and the denomination “5 DOLLARS”. The earth is the fifth largest planet in our solar system and the planet which is third closest to the sun. Its age is estimated to be 4.6 billion years. Two-thirds of the Earth’s surface are covered with water, which is why it is also known as the “Blue Planet”. So far, the Earth is the only known planet whose composition offers ideal conditions for biological life forms.
