The fourth issue of the series Age of Sails is dedicated to the Bluenose II. The colored motive presents the ship in full splendor and with hoisted sails. Below the ship are the name “Bluenose II” and the year of issue. The reverse features the American bald eagle and the 13 stars of the founding states. The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “1OZ. FINE SILVER – ONE DOLLAR” are framing the Eagle design. After the legendary Bluenose sank off Haiti on January 28, 1946, the replica of the sailing schooner was built at the Smith & Rhuland shipyard in the port city of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. On July 24, 1963, the “Bluenose II” was finally launched, differing from the original only in terms of her interior fittings. Until 2009, the Bluenose II represented the province of Nova Scotia and served as an attraction for tourists. From 2010 to 2012, numerous repairs and optimizations were necessary before the ship could be launched again on September 29, 2012. The limited silver coin in color is delivered in a capsule including a product card.
