This stunning Libertad silver coin in color depicts the goddess of victory Victoria as a symbol of Mexico’s independence. The coin of five ounces of silver also shows the Mexican flag in powerful colors, a luminous full moon and an Aztec calendar in the background. Through the use of color, the details are shown off to particularly good effect. The motive of the goddess of victory was inspired by the monument “El Ángel de la Independencia” (The Angel of Independence), since 1910 located in the city center of the Mexican capital Mexico City (Ciudad de México). The statue was presented during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Mexican independence by President Díaz, who had also commissioned the construction of the monument. The Libertad silver coins do not have a specific denomination, but are still a legal tender in Mexico. They are considered as coins and not as medals. Their value is calculated from the daily fixed price of silver per ounce (London fixing). The limited silver coin in color comes with product card in a coin capsule.
