 2016 1 Kilo Pure Silver Coin – Gods of Olympus – Multiple Layer Minting – Cook Islands

Following its famous predecessor, the “Temple of Heaven”, this multiple layer 1 kilo silver 999 coin showcases the sophisticated low-relief-technique on a stunning diameter of 100 mm and thus creates the 3D-effect of this amazing coin even more! The lowest relief if the coin is to be found in 5 mm depth. Depicting twelve of the main gods in Greek mythology in each of their special characteristics, the coin has got the strictly limited mintage – only 199 pieces worldwide.

Represented on the obverse of this coin, there is the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II. The inscriptions indicating the Queen’s name, the issuing year and the name of the issuing country can be seen along the rim of the coin.

The coin’s reverse consists of different depths creating a three-dimensional effect to show stunning details. Using the same multiple layer minting technique employed on the superb Temple of Heaven coin from earlier in the year, it features twelve of the main gods in Greek mythology arranged in an arc around the coin centre of the almost concave reverse. Greek for ‘twelve gods’, the Dodekatheon were the principal deities of the Greek pantheon, residing atop a mythical Mount Olympus. This 1 kilo splendid coin comes housed in a beautiful packaging with a CoA inside. Don’t miss out!
