COMES WITH CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
The birth of Bao Bao in 2013 was met with cheering crowds. Since then, the giant panda cub has become quite the sensation around the world. The China Mint has honored this special cub with a proof of her own— each is struck to almost perfect Proof-69 Ultra Cameo (PF69UC) condition and graded by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
The reverse shows her exploring the habitat she calls home at the Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park. The inscription, written in English, states, “Baby Giant Panda Bao Bao at National Zoo.”.
The obverse reveals the Great Wall of China and the Smithsonian Castle in Washington D.C. In an arc at the upper rim of the design is the inscription, “Smithsonian Institution,” and across the bottom of the medal are the date (2015) and “The People’s Republic of China” in Chinese.
